Capital Letters

A gala screening of Ciaran O’Connor’s feature film, ‘Capital Letters,’ will open the 1st Temple Bar Film Festival on the 6th of June. The festival is designed to celebrate the success of Irish filmmakers at international level as well as low budget films created in Ireland.

Organised by Filmbase in association with the Temple Bar Cultural Trust, the festival runs from the 6 – 9 of June with a variety of features and shorts on offer. The films will screen at Filmbase’s screening area, the Basement Space; outdoor screenings in Meeting House Square and special in-pub short film screenings around the local watering holes of Temple Bar.
Feature highlights include the IFTA winning ‘Winters End’, the urban punk drama ‘The Last Bus Home’ and Conor McMahon’s zombie pic ‘Dead Meat’, in addition to classic films including Frank Stapleton’s 1997 comedy/drama ‘The Last Provence’ and Cathal Black’s 1984 drama ‘Pigs’.
Short films screening in pubs around Temple Bar include the IFTA winning short films ‘Undressing My Mother’ and ‘Yu Ming is Ainm Dom’. The festival closes on the 9th with John T.Davis’ ‘Hobo’.
