The 21 selected European actors for the Berlin Film Festival’s Shooting Stars have been announced, Mark O’Halloran, star of ‘Adam & Paul’ and the upcoming ‘Lingling’ has been chosen by the Irish Film Board to represent Ireland at this years event.

Chosen by EFP members, the Shooting Stars will attend a series of special events during the opening weekend of the 55th Berlin International Film Festival, which aim to focus the attention of the international industry, media and public on the extraordinary talent that exists in European filmmaking. The actors will receive the and will receive the Studio Hamburg Shooting Stars Award in recognition of their artistic talent – presented by festival director Dieter Kosslick on the main stage of the Berlinale Palace during the festival next month.
‘Adam & Paul’ directed by IFTA winning director Lenny Abrahamson and written by Mark O’Halloran has also been selected to compete in the Panorama section of the festival competition. Previous Irish shooting stars include Flora Montgomery (Goldfish Memory, When Brendan Met Trudy), selected in 2003 and Andrew Scott (Dead Bodies) in 2004.
