‘Veronica Guerin’ won the UGC Cinemas Public Vote for Best Irish Film at the Awards ceremony on Saturday evening, with ‘Intermission’ winning most with four awards – Best Film, Best Director, Best Script and Best Supporting Actor.
‘Dead Bodies’ won three awards, for Best Actor, Best Sound/Sound Editing and Best Cinematography. Angeline Ball won two awards for her work on ‘Bloom’ and ‘Any Time Now’. Other winners include Miriam O’Callaghan who won the Public Vote for Best TV Personality. Colin Farrell won the Public Vote for Best Irish Actor. The award was accepted on his behalf by Samantha Morton. Television wins included three awards for Amu Amigos Amazon - Best Entertainment, Lifestyle and Irish Language.
