Participants include Brendan McCarthy (Head of Production and Development, Irish Film Board), Alan Gilsenan (Director, Timbuktu), Macdara Kelleher and Lance Daly (Producer and Directors of The Halo Effect), Ed King and Conor McMahon (Producer and Director, Dead Meat).
The panel will discuss the 'merits of the Irish Film Board's low and ultra low budget feature funding initiatives'.
Focus on Exhibition - The Cultural and Economic Trends in Cinema in Ireland and Wales
Tuesday February 17 at 12 noon at the IFI.
A presentation and discussion of the interim report by J Ron Inglis and Sue Todd. This study was commissioned by the ArtsCouncil and Sgrin Cymru Wales to inform cinema exhibition policy and decision making for both the Arts Council and Sgrin Cymru Wales. It consists of a detailed cinema audit of Ireland and Wales.

Steven Gaydos is the executive editor and international managing director of Variety. He sits on the board of the British Independent Film Awards, created the Variety Critics Choice: Europe Now sidebar at Karlovy Vary Film Festival, and is a member of the Writers Guild of America, Bafta and the European Film Academy.
Meet the Distributors

Michael Dwyer will chair this event, with, the organisers hope, all the distributors represented at the event. Dublin has the highest cinema admission per capita in Europe, and this event gives the cinema-going public the opportunity to find out more about how the distribution business works.

A panel discussion about a key craft in the film production process, for an exploration of this discipline.
