The current position vis a vis Cabin Fever is as follows:
There is a ship the 'Johanna Lucretia' on its way from Dartmouth to Sligo.
This 96-foot ship is fully compliant with the UK's Maritime and Coastguard
Agency (MCA) regulations for worldwide cruising.
Coco Productions, the production company who is making Cabin Fever for
RTÉ, will be applying to the Marine Safety Directorate for a Passenger
Licence for this vessel.
RTE is optimistic that this ship will meet the specifications of all Irish
standards. The series, however, will not go ahead unless an Irish licence is issued.
Six of the remaining nine contestants are committed to going forward, should the series resume.
There are also two substitute contestants fully trained and committed to
participating.
There will be a fully-trained crew available - their qualifications to be
fully approved by the Marine Safety Directorate.
Further details as we get them.
