Following a management buy-out, The Picture Company, part of the Independent Pictures Group, has been renamed Piranha Bar.
Housed in a modern post-production facility in Merrion Square, the company has already been to work on behalf of some of the biggest clients in the industry – McCann Erickson Dublin approached the new outfit to develop the animation required for the Fanta Popstars sponsorship stings.
Other recent campaigns include a hi-tech campaign for Mazda, cutting-edge graphics for AIB Rugby Sponsorship and painting out puppeteers for Mastercard's World Cup stings.
The underground Piranha Bar facility runs the only Onyx2 supercomputer in Ireland, feeding Inferno and Fire in the main suite. A second Flame suite runs alongside, fed by three 3D animation seats and three offline Avids with broadcast digital online provided by a VIP suite.
Piranha Bar is run by Managing Director Dave Burke and Creative Director Gavin Kelly, along with Marc Long heading up broadcast and Vernon Crowley in Finance. David Blake, with 10 years experience of editing commercials in New York, heads up the editing department.
