Wildfire's 'Dead Silence' Wins National Media Award

The award for Broadcasting Feature of the Year was won by Adrian McCarthy of Wildfire Films for a documentary he directed for the TRUE LIVES series last year: DEAD SILENCE told the story of the appalling consequences of BSE (Mad Cow Disease) on two Irish farming families who discover that the disease has hit their herds. Michael Kenny, a young farmer from County Sligo, and John and Mary Breen from County Tipperary are filmed as they confront the devastating results of the disease on their lives. Adrian McCarthy's previous documentaries include 'To Russia With Love' and the award-winning 'Blowing The Whistle', which investigated the world of a Gaelic Football referee.
