'The Last Time' to be Released with Fox's The Banger Sisters

The Last Time, written and directed by Conor Horgan and produced by Noreen Donohoe of Zanita Films, was part of the 2002 Short Cuts scheme, supported by the Irish Film Board and RTÉ. The Last Time stars Linda Bassett of ‘East is East’ fame, and tells the story of a woman in her fifties, who on hearing she may not have long to live, goes out looking for love in all the wrong places.

The soundtrack for the short includes music from The Devlins, Rob Strong and Little Drummer Boy with an original score composed by Niall Byrne.

The Last Time had its premiere at the Cork film festival winning the UIP Best Director Award and also scooped the Jameson Award for Best Irish Short. It also recently was named runner up in the Best Writer category at the Fuji Film/TAPS awards in London.

The Filmmakers

Writer / Director Conor Horgan
Conor Horgan is a photographer and director. His photographic work ranges from commercial campaigns to portraiture and editorial work for many magazines in Ireland and abroad. An exhibition of his portraits was held in the Gallery of Photography, Dublin in 1994.

He has directed many pop promos and television commercials, including award-winning campaigns for the National Lottery and Allied Irish Banks.

Producer Noreen Donohoe, Zanita Films
Noreen was involved with the production and promotion of the Academy Award nominated animation ‘Fifty Percent Grey’ which was released cinemas in Ireland with ‘Behind Enemy Lines’ by Twentieth Century Fox.

Noreen Produced ‘Pitch N Putt with Beckett and Joyce’ by Donald Clarke which was released in cinemas by Buena Vista and was screened as part of the International James Joyce Symposium in Trieste 2002. Noreen also co-produced ‘Buskers’ which was the best short film prizewinner at Galway, Cork and Foyle Film Festivals, 2000. She is currently acting as an Associate Producer a feature film titled ‘The Halo Effect’ by Director Lance Daly, currently in Post-Production.
