The jury for the 44th edition of the Shark Awards, taking place in Kinsale from the 7th to 9th September, has been announced. The advertising festival welcomes a host of top International and Irish creatives who will decide the recipients of the prestigious Shark trophies.
“I am delighted to announce and welcome the Jury,” says Chairman Donald Helme. “Among those confirmed are; John Hegarty, Chairman and Worldwide Creative Director, BBH Bartle Bogle Hegarty, UK; Mike Hughes, President and Creative Director at The Martin Agency, USA and Gerry Farrell, Creative Director at Leith Agency in Edinburgh, Scotland. Complementing the international talent quotient are Ireland’s own outstanding creatives in Nick Kelly, one of Ireland’s best-known advertising copywriters and Internationally regarded musicians, and Alan Kelly, an award winning copywriter at Dublin based agency Cawley NeaTBWA.”
The Festival programme includes two days of international speakers and creative events that promise to inform as well as entertain. In addition, the Festival will also be bringing top creative educators to Dublin this spring in advance of the Festival for events that will set the scene for the autumn extravaganza on a date soon to be announced.
The award categories span across Television, Cinema, Radio, TV Promos, New Directors/Young Creatives and an Irish section. In the last two years the Festival has widened its entry categories and established a parallel and highly successful award for TV Promos – The Promo-Sharks.
