IFTN regretfully reports the death of Frank Clarke, senior technician at DCU School of Communications. Frank was with DCU over 20 years and many graduates now working in the industry had the benefit of Frank's assistance, expertise, dedication and patience.

“The staff of the School of Communications is
greatly saddened to report the death, at the
weekend, of colleague Frank Clarke.
Frank was a technician in the School for over
20 years. He will be greatly missed by staff
and students.
Our deepest sympathies go to his wife, Niamh,
and his family.
The arrangements for Frank Clarke's funeral:
The School of Communications will be closed on Thursday, 7 April, the day of the funeral of our colleague Frank Clarke.
The school office and
the loans department will be closed, and lectures will be cancelled.
Where possible, lecturers will make up for the cancelled lectures.
The removal of Frank's body to the church is on Wednesday at 5pm. The funeral service is at 10am Thursday, in St Fergal's Church, Boghall Road, Bray, with burial afterwards in Shanganagh Cemetery.
To get to St Fergal's Church, go through Bray to the top of the Main Street, take the right fork at the (former) Town Hall, and left at the next main junction. Alternatively, take the N11 past Bray, exit at Bray south, and take Killarney Road back towards the town. Boghall Road is the first major road on the right.
The School of Communications - students and staff
- is hosting a
memorial meeting for Frank in the DCU Inter-Faith Centre at 1pm, on Thursday, 14 April.
I want to thank students of the School and the Students' Union for their support, sympathy and concern. The staff of the School appreciates this very much. I have been able to tell Frank's wife, Niamh (herself a former student of Communication Studies) how deeply students and staff have been affected by Frank's death.”
