Conor McMahon’s zombie feature film ‘Dead Meat’ has been selected for screening at the 21st Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival scheduled to run from the 9th – 15th of June 2005.
The low budget film tells the story of a BSE-infected cow who escapes the slaughter and runs loose across the Leitrim countryside infecting the natives and turning them into flesh eating zombies. Shot in Leitrim during April 2003 and starring Marian Araujo and David Mallard, the feature had a successful limited release in Ireland earlier this year.
The Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival awards the Silver Scream Award each year. The previous winners include ‘Spirited Away’, ‘Donnie Darko’ and ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’.
