Production Depot Celebrates Busy First Anniversary

Since opening in May 2004 it has been a busy first year for the Production Depot. This level of activity led to an agency agreement with Arri Media and Arri Lighting Rental in February 2005. This has made available the latest film, video, grip and lighting equipment to the Irish industry.

Equipment includes the Arri 235, Arri 435 Extreme, 35mm ‘3 Perf’ movements, High Speed Tornado Camera, Arri D20 and the soon to be released Arri Master Primes. The latest lighting equipment includes the X Ceramic 250, Kinoflo Parabeams and the upcoming Arri Event range.

The Depot has supplied and serviced a wide variety of productions on every available format ranging from 35mm to DVCAM. 35mm projects to date include features such as ‘Breakfast on Pluto’ and the soon to be released ‘The Honeymooners’. 16mm projects include ‘Whatever Love Means’, a Granada Drama which is currently shooting.

As the leading supplier of the latest Hi Definition equipment in Ireland the Production Depot has continued to dominate the market in this rapidly growing format. Productions have included the recently released ‘League of Gentlemen Apocalypse’ feature, TV drama series ‘Showbands’, ‘Pure Mule’ and ‘The Clinic Series 3’ which has just begun shooting on this format.

Hi Definition commercials include ‘Vodafone’ and ‘Wavin Piping’. In addition the Production Depot has supplied Hi Def equipment to short films such as ‘Plain Jane’, ‘Linnet’, ‘Oidhreacht’, ‘Family Tree’ and the award-winning ‘Fluent Dysphasia’. In addition to HD equipment HDV cameras are now also available.

Other television projects include ‘Clinic - Series 2’, ‘Love is the Drug’, ‘The Snip’ and ‘Close Encounters with Keith Barry’.

In addition to supplying equipment the Production Depot has successfully supplied equipment and facilities for a range of multi camera shoots. These include ‘Tommy Tiernan Cracked live at Vicar Street’, ‘Liffey Laughs

1’, ‘Liffey Laughs 2’, ‘Joe Rooney Live at Vicar Street’ and ‘R.E.M at the Point’. There are several multi camera shoots scheduled over the summer months including live events, TV Pilots and Reality Shows ( Ireland and UK). During the latter half of this year the Production Depot has grown its commercial business. Credits include ‘Aquafina’ (Toytown Films), ‘o2’ (Speers), ‘Tayto’ (H2 Films), ‘Vodafone’ (Max Films), ‘Birds Eye’ (Max Films), ‘Smart Telecom’ (Red Pepper), ‘2FM’ (CEL Studios), ‘Denny’ (Red Pepper), ‘Eurosaver - Proctor and Gamble’ (Toytown). On a recent Bulmers Commercial (Rocket Productions) the Tornado High Speed camera was used for the first time in Ireland.
