Irish Co-Production ‘Noon’ To Shoot In Dublin
19 Jun 2012 : By Steve Cummins
Fiona Glascott heads up the cast of 'Noon'
Irish/Italian feature film ‘Noon’ is to wrap shooting in Ireland at the end of this month with a number of days filming in Dublin.

The feature – which will be released in Italy under the Italian title ‘Controra’ – is currently four weeks into a six week shoot in various locations in Italy.

It will conclude filming in Dublin before going in to post-production at Egg next month. Sound post-production will be carried out at Fitzwilliam Sound.

Dublin-based Ripple World Pictures are co-producing the feature with Rome’s Interlinea Films and Milan-based Barter SPA. Jacqueline Kerrin and Dominic Wright will produce for Ripple World alongside Maurizio Antonini and Valentina Gardani.

Italian writer and director Rossella de Venuto (Wanted In Rome) will direct a cast headed by Irish actress Fiona Glascott (The Duel) with the film’s story following a couple who return to Italy to their family’s ancient palace where sinister spirits from the past appear.

Other cast members include Federico Castellucio (The Sopranos), Pietro Ragusa (The Talented Mr Ripley), Salvatore Lazzaro (Under The Tuscan Sun) and Ray Lovelock (Capri).

Irish cinematographer Ciarán Tanham (Raw, A Kiss For Jed) is the director of photography, while other key Irish crew include sound recordist Conor O’Toole (Albert Nobbs), boom operator Noel Quinn (The Tudors) and focus puller Ron Coe (The Other Side of Sleep).

The remainder of the crew is largely Italian with 2009 Oscar-nominee Antonella Cannarozzi (I Am Love) on costume design and Cecilia Zanuso (Things From Another World) set to edit the feature.

‘Noon’ (Controra) is due to be released next year.
