IFB Funding Deadline Extended to 7 June | The Irish Film & Television Network

Normally a project group from the IFB/BSE will sit once a month to consider the various applications for funding. As the project group meeting will no longer sit in June and will sit instead in mid July, the May deadline has been extended to close of business on Tuesday 7th June.

The IFB/BSE provides loans and equity investment to Independent Irish film-makers. In 2011, the IFB/BSE has approx €16,300,000 of funding which has come from the Department of Arts, Heritage and Gaeltacht Affairs and returned investments. This money will be granted in various capacities to fund development, production and distribution of Irish productions throughout 2011.

The IFB look for particular qualities when awarding funding and projects which meet some of the following criteria. Preference is given to projects that may bring activity to the Irish creative industry (and may not be able to do so without funding from the IFB/BSE), projects that have an Irish cultural leaning, projects which display originality and projects that are destined for the big screen.
