'Wayfaring Strangers' Eyes August Shoot - Murphy, Gambon & Sheehan On Board

Cillian Murphy (The Dark Knight) remains attached to Treasure Entertainment’s WWII thriller, ‘Wayfaring Strangers’ which will start shooting in mid August on locations including Burgundy in France. ‘Killing Bono’s Robert Sheehan is also attached to the project which is written by and is to be directed by Irish filmmaker Stephen Bradley (Boy Eats Girl).

’Wayfaring Strangers’ is a psychological spy thriller set in occupied France where a unit of British paratroopers are hed captive by German soldiers in a remote farmhouse, also where a young Jewish couple are hiding. The Irish-French co-production is being co-produced by Treasure Entertainment’s Rob Walpole (I Went Down) and Rebecca O’Flanagan (The Eclipse) and Chic Films’ Lauranne Bourrachot and Marco Cherqui, the production team behind the Oscar nominated ‘A Prophet’.

Dublin actor, Michael Gambon (Harry Potter series) has also been in talks to take part in the feature which was originally scheduled to start shooting last year. Budget is estimated at $5million and feature has received €30,000 support funding from the Irish Film Board thus far. The film is currently being represented in Cannes by sales agents, Soda Pictures.
