Entries are now being sought for the Capital Irish Film Festival, the largest Irish film festival in the U.S., which will be held in Washington DC from the 1st to the 10th of December. Irish films are being sought in the fields of features, shorts, documentaries and animation, including those in the Irish language.
The deadline for all entries is 13th June, 2011 and applications should include the submitted project on NTSC DVD Film Screener and a short synopsis of not more than 150 words along with information as to whether the film has previously screened in the U.S.
Last year’s festival screened several Irish features including Paul Fraser’s ‘My Brothers’; John and Kieran Carney’s ‘Zonad’; Cartoon Saloon’s ‘The Secret of Kells’; Mark O’Connor’s ‘Between the Canals’ and Marian Quinn’s ‘32A’.
Solas Nua, a non-profit organization in the United States dedicated exclusively to contemporary Irish arts, produces the Capital Irish Film Festival. This year’s event
