Following the launch of an App Builder platform in May 2010, Furious Tribe has announced its transgression from service provider to software provider. The app design consultancy based in Media Cube IADT, now employs 15 people in various roles.
Fouded originally as a web design company by a group of IADT graduates, Furious Tribe, with the aid of Enterprise Ireland’s innovation voucher scheme and Media Cube’s Start Up programme, has since funded its successful growth from its own revenue and has now updated its status to that of software provider.
The launch of the Apple iphone was the catalyst towards the shift in the company direction and the further launch of ‘Apptivate’, Furious Tribe’s apps building platform has played a huge part in the company transformation from service provider to software provider. ‘Apptivate’ aims to give small and medium enterprises the ability to produce apps with the company’s self-created features. Said SMEs can create their own apps from $450 for the platform and Furious Tribe then charge a low fee of $25 a month for technical support.
Furious Tribe has also developed mobile apps for Citibank, O2, TV3, RTE Sport, Royal Sun Alliance and Davy Stockbrokers and have expanded their client base in South America and Asia.
Media Cube Manager, Martin Hogan commented on the company’s ongoing success, saying “The ability to adapt to changing markets and accessing creativity and technology with business innovation is what has made Furious Tribe a success. I have personally witnessed the growth of Furious Tribe from a small web design company, to a fast-growing competitor in the international arena. Patrick Leddy and his team are an inspiration to anyone who is contemplating the move to start up their own digital business.”
