RTÉ/GFC Short Script Award Deadline 11 March
07 Mar 2011 :
Passing
The deadline for the latest RTÉ/GFC Short Script Award submissions is Friday, March 11th. The competition, run by the Galway Film Centre, in collaboration with RTÉ will see two scripts selected from the submissions received. The production teams behind each of the two projects will each receive a sum of €9,500 to make their film. In addition, the Galway Film Centre will provide equipment and facilities and RTÉ will screen the finished film.

The Short Script Award competition, established in 1998, looks to provide an opportunity for new talent to emerge and gain exposure. Recent short films have enjoyed much success on the film festival circuit both nationally and internationally with last year’s ‘Passing’ by David Freyne (pictured above) winning the 2010 Kerry Film Festival Best Short Film / Best Director Awards and the Audience Award for best Irish Short at Cork Film Festival. This short was also screened at the 2010 Palm Springs International ShortFest and the 2010 Galway Film Fleadh.
