Windmill Lane pictures recently contributed their talents to the adventure series, ‘Primeval’ by providing a brand new opening title sequence, designed and executed by the in-house graphics team, and graded the full series – helping the monsters look their terrifying best. The new series, which shot in Ireland, has just started its broadcast on ITV and airs at 7pm Saturdays.
‘Primeval’ audiences have Windmill Lane Pictures to thank for the show’s new opening title sequence which was designed and executed by the in-house graphics team of Richard Merrigan, Owen Derby and Brian O'Durnin
The grading work for the full series was carried out by Dave Hughes in Baselight while the HD conform and finish to SR 4:4:4 was carried out in Smoke by Shayne Murphy.
Episode five and six of the fourth series of ‘Primeval’ was directed by IFTA nominated Irish director Robert Quinn (Na Cloigne). He was part of a larger Irish crew working on the series including Irish cast members Ciarán McMenamin (Any Time Now, Hunger), Ruth Kearney (Shark City, Hard Boiled Eggs), Peter Hanley (Braveheart), Rory Keenan (The Guard) and IFTA 2011 nominee Briain Gleeson (Love/ Hate).
The Irish cast members have joined the show’s established staff members Hannah Spearritt (Seed of Chucky), Ben Miller (Johnny English), Andrew Lee-Potts (1408) and Ben Mansfield (Mr. Nobody) alongside fellow newcomer Alexander Siddig (Clash of the Titans). The new series will return to the ARC after the government loses faith in Lester’s (Ben Miller) ability to run such a dangerous and expensive operation on his own. The anomaly operation is now a public/private partnership, part-owned by the government, and partly by charismatic scientist Philip Burton, played by Alexander Siddig.
’Primeval’ has returned to television screens for two new series from 2011, as a result of a ground-breaking deal between ITV, multichannel broadcaster, UKTV, and producers Impossible Pictures.
