Record TV3 Audience for ‘X Factor’

The results of ‘The X-Factor’ semi finals which broadcast on Sunday, December 5th saw TV3 celebrate its highest ever audience ratings. An average of 911,800 people tuned in to see Irish contestant Mary Byrne sing for survival and, ultimately, leave the show.

Based on Nielsen findings the TV3 broadcast of the show took a 47.9% share of Adults aged 15-44 and reached a peak of 1,387,700 audience members making it the highest rating show in the broadcaster’s 12 year history.

An average of 911,800 people tuned in to see Irish contestant Mary Byrne singing for survival. Last year’s highest audience figure for ‘The X Factor’ on TV3 was 818,000 which occurred in the week when Irish twins Jedward were eliminated.

Last Sunday’s ‘X Factor’ broadcast peaked at 8:55pm with 1,187,200 viewers and reached 1,387,700 people in total across the hour.
