Today FM radio presenters Ray Foley and JP are currently engaged in a battle to get to the top of the Irish charts in a bid to raise money for charity. Both DJs recently recorded a single in Pulse College’s Windmill Lane Recording Studios and have now released their respective singles for download.
Ray Foley performed ‘There’s a Whole Lot of Loving’ by Guys and Dolls which was covered already by Irish pop group Six. Ray recorded his single accompanied by the Dublin Gospel Choir and downloads that his song receives will see money donated to St Francis Hospice. JP decided to sing a version of Starship’s ‘Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now’ which he performed with singer Niki Kavanagh. The money raised by downloads of JP’s single will go to CASA – the Caring and Sharing Association.
Both presenters recorded their songs in the Studios at Windmill Lane, where engineers Tony Perry and Billy Farrell from Pulse College and Windmill Lane Recording Studios oversaw both recordings. Individuals can download their favourite song and the money raised will go to both charities. Whichever presenter raises the most money with their download will be declared the winner.
Both tracks are available now on iTunes and can be downloaded for the price of €0.99. To download one or both songs visit www.todayfm.com
