Recent MTV European Music Awards winner, Lady Gaga laid down some of the tracks for her new album, ‘Born this Way’ in Dublin’s Windmill Lane Recording Studios hours before she went onstage for her O2 Arena Dublin Gig.
Pulse College have currently taken over the exclusive Windmill Lane Studio and expanded their facilities which now include seven recording studios, 35-seater lecture room and six media labs.
A spokesperson from Pulse confirmed the star was recording in Dublin but couldn’t comment further as details for the star’s anticipated new album are being kept firmly under wraps. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Gaga disclosed that the album will not be released until 2011, saying: "It came so quickly. I've been working on it for months, and I feel very strongly that it's finished right now.” The only two confirmed songs from the album are ‘Born This Way’ and ‘You and I’ which were performed as part of her Monster Ball Tour set list in Dublin at the end of last month.
Windmill Lane Recording Studios has long been at the heart of the Irish recording industry since 1978 and Lady Gaga now joins a long list of celebrated artists, including U2, The Cranberries and The Script who have recorded some of their albums there. Since the studio was taken over by Pulse College earlier this year, Windmill lane is being restored and renovated.
