Irish Stand-up comedian Dara O’Briain will begin his new role as host of the British ‘Apprentice’ spin-off show ‘The Apprentice: You're Fired’ tonight. Dara replaces Adrian Chiles who recently defected from the BBC to ITV.

The live installment of ‘The Apprentice: You’re Fired’ will see candidates who get fired by Lord Alan Sugar on the main ‘Apprentice’ show appear on BBC Two's ‘The Apprentice: You're Fired’, where a panel discuss their performance and receive a grilling from Dara in front of a studio audience. The live show launched last year to 3million viewers, up from 2.7million the previous year.

Dara is already well known to British audiences for his hosting role on comic panel show ‘Mock the Week’ and the Irish comic has said he is "delighted" to have landed this new role.

Controller of BBC Two, Janice Hadlow commented on Dara’s appointment, saying: "I'm thrilled to have Dara on board. His unique style of quick-witted banter is ideally suited to the job of probing the latest casualty of Lord Sugar's infamous firing finger."

‘The Apprentice: You’re Fired’ will broadcast tonight on BBC 2 at 10.00pm.
