IFB Wants Filmmakers' Signatures
14 Jul 2010 :
Corduroy
The deadline for the Irish Film Board's flagship short film scheme, Signatures, has been announced as Friday, September 3rd. The scheme looks to aid the making of live-action, fiction films that act as a proving-ground for Irish creative talents.

The second round of Signatures shorts premiered last year at the Cork Film Festival and included Hugh O'Conor's ‘Corduroy’ which was then officially selected for the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year. The scheme was launched as an opportunity for producers, directors and writers to work in a professional environment that will allow them to further their experience.

The IFB actively encourages submissions in Irish as films for this scheme can be produced in either the English or Irish language. This year’s chosen short films will again have their premiere at the Corona Cork Film Festival which takes place next year. Up to five shorts will be selected for funding of a maximum of €75,000 each.

All applications for the scheme should be sent with the reference REF: SIGNATURES on the envelope to: Bord Scannan na hEireann/the Irish Film Board, Queensgate, 23 Dock Road, Galway. For more information on making an application and to download an application form visit www.irishfilmboard.ie.
