Production has commenced on new RTÉ 2 production ‘Super Crew’. The new series will look to out together a hip hop dance crew of youngsters aged between 13 and 17. The chosen crew members will then perform nightly in this year’s Olympia pantomime alongside Jedward.
Production is currently underway on ‘Super Crew’ with would-be professional Irish hip hop dancers coming into the third round of auditions. Said auditions will take place alongside wokshops in the RTÉ studios between the 12th and 22nd of July to find the members of the dance crew who will be mentored and choreographed by top names from the world of hip hop and get to perform nightly in the Olympia pantomime alongside Jedward.
The RTÉ in house 10 x 30 minute series is expected to start broadcasting in September and is directed by James Kenneally (Dragons’ Den) and produced by Grainne Ahern (Fine Gael: A Family at War) with David Heffernan (Reverb) on board as series producer. It will be shot on XD Cam, DV and studio cameras.
Studio/ Third Round Auditions - If chosen to proceed to the third round of auditions, candidates will be required to attend workshops in RTÉ Studios, Donnybrook, Dublin between the 12th and 22nd July.
