Cinemagic, the International Film Festival for young people will take place in Belfast this year from the 11th to the 26th of November and is currently inviting the submissions of films and programmes for young people. The deadline for receipt of applications is July 26th.
Cinemagic, established in 1989 is currently the largest award-winning children’s film festival in Great Britain and Ireland. This year’s 16-day ‘20th Anniversary’ Festival includes international film screenings, big movie premieres, special guests, discussions, competitions and master classes in all aspects of filmmaking.
The event is a competitive festival with prizes for:
• Best feature and best short film for a teenage audience, as judged by a jury of young people aged 15-18
• Best feature and best short film for a children's audience, as judged by a jury of young people aged 10-14
Films made within the years 2008 – 2010 are eligible for competition. Organisers are interested in all types of films and programmes for children and young people from preschool through to young adult. The festival cinemas can screen 35mm, Beta SP (PAL), Digi Beta and DV cam.

The deadline for entries is, as mentioned above, Monday, July 26th. All entries will be judged by a previewing committee and successful entrants will be notified by 30th August 2010.
