BAI Launches Community Broadcasting Support Scheme 2010 | The Irish Film & Television Network

The Scheme, which is open to licensed Community Television and Community Radio Stations, will award funding grants enabling stations to evaluate and review the operation and effectiveness of their services.

Evaluations funded by the Scheme can either concentrate on external issues; aiding community stations to take a closer look at the communities that they are licensed to serve, or address internal issues; supporting stations with organisational development issues.

Commenting on the launch of this year’s scheme, Michael O’Keeffe, Chief Executive of the BAI, said: “The work funded by the Scheme to date has proved invaluable to the Community Sector over the last few years. We are confident that the significant amount of funding being made available again this year through the Scheme will further enhance the development of the Community Broadcasting Sector.”

The Scheme is operated by the BAI through its Sectoral Development function. An information booklet and application form is available on the Authority’s website www.bai.ie. Total funding of up to €65,000 will be made available under this year’s scheme. The closing date for completed applications to be submitted to the BAI is 22nd September 2010.
