Egg Introduces Nucoda Film Master | The Irish Film & Television Network

‘Lapland Odyssey’, which was directed by Dome Karukoski (Forbidden Fruit) with Pini Hellstedt (Hellsinki) as DoP, was shot in Lapland and is a co-produced by Ireland’s Ripple World Pictures, Finland’s Helsinki Filmi Oy and Sweden’s Anagram Produktion. A comedic road movie, the film moves through Lapland and seeks to explore the soul of a Finnish man in his pursuit of a digibox!

Egg has also implemented the new technology on two other recent projects; ‘The Fields of Athenry’ and ‘Gateway Ireland’.

As to Egg’s new piece of technology, Gareth Young, Egg Co-Owner explains that: “Film Master is internationally recognised as the industry leader in real-time non-linear grading with 2k and 4k capability. From film scans to Red it is the most advanced finishing tool available for DI movies, commercials and TV drama and documentaries. The results that we have achieved in the last few weeks are outstanding”.

A statement from Egg further describes the benefits of the Nucoda Film Master: ”The Digital Cinema Print route is quickly becoming the answer to the lengthy and at times troublesome process that’s involved in creating a film print,”it states. ”With a few exceptions almost all Irish cinemas now are changing or have changed over to digital screens. DCP is a faster and cheaper way to deliver your project for theatre release and EGG have quickly mastered the art of DCP. With their experience combined with the Nucoda and DCP Authoring system they can deliver their client’s projects straight to the big screen with little to no fuss.”
