'Worlds Apart' Team Seek Co-Producer | The Irish Film & Television Network

‘Worlds Apart’ will follow two independent curators, one art group, and a journey through the Art World. The goal of the project is to introduce the non-inclusive viewer to a world that is self indulgent, narcissistic and superficial. The filmmakers will track the respective art groups as they work to create, produce and showcase Visual Art Exhibitions from prevailing Irish, UK and International Artists.

It is hoped that filming of the doc will begin this summer. The director on board is Yvonne McDevitt and the filming will take place in Norway, London, Bratislava in the Slovak Republic, Berlin and Dublin. The expected completion date is December of this year. The director of photography is TBC.

The aim of Visual Arts Group, Mart – the driving force behind the project – is explained to IFTN by its co-curator, Matthew Nevin: “We want to open up Art to all sections of society and thus we will follow the journeys of the curators as they set up, install and meet international Curators, Critics and World-renowned Artists to discuss the driving force of the Art World Today. The Documentary shall follow the creation, installation and presentation of the Art Works from over 30 Visual Artists, including Installations, Video and Performance work in 5 European cities. We will follow the tour from its pre production, to its launch in Bergen-Norway, on to London, Bratislava, Berlin and ending in a large showcasing event in Dublin.”
