Konrad Begg (Crimes that Shook the World) is currently in development with his feature film debut ‘Seven Songs for Amy’ which is set to start filming early 2011.
The feature, which started life as a short film, is described by Konrad for IFTN as “a dark romantic comedy set in 1980s rural Ireland and it centres around an underground musician called Sean O’Malley who loses the love of his life and tries to win her back.”
The story for the film was co-written by Begg and Fiona Graham a year and a half ago, the latter writing the screenplay. Pre-production will commence in September of this year. The film is currently casting and Konrad tells us he is excited at the prospects “We’re in discussions with a lot of people. For the male and female leads we’ve got incredible people in the loop.”
‘Seven Songs for Amy’ is being executively produced by Sonny and Skye Productions’ Fiona and Marie Graham. The film’s producers are TBC and the team are currently looking at several possible directors of photography. The film will be shot on location in Galway, Kinvara and Kilcolgan.
