BBC NI Gets 'Stuffed'

Tweet The oven gloves are off in a new cookery competition from Green Inc Film for BBC Northern Ireland which starts on Wednesday, April 28. ‘Stuffed’ sees two friends pitted against each other in a challenge to win culinary kudos. ‘Stuffed’ will see two competitors working against the clock, to prepare a three-course meal designed by their TV chef mentor for a gathering of family and friends. The four part series will see the amateur chefs taken out of the comfort zone of their own kitchens for a culinary cook off in the professional kitchen of Narrow Water Castle, Warrenpoint. Each person will be under the mentorship of one of two celebrity chefs; Jenny Bristow, acclaimed local good food ambassador, TV cook and author; and Kevin Dundon, owner of an award winning Country House Hotel and Restaurant, author and TV chef. The cook who is declared the winner at the end of the feast will be judged by a mutual family member or friend who is willing to risk denting a few egos by declaring their own personal favourites and ultimately choosing which cook is the “Dinner Winner”. Chef Kevin Dundon says, "I really like being involved in this series because the format has so many different elements to it. I enjoy the master classes as they give us professionals an opportunity to showcase a variety of good culinary techniques. I also enjoy the opportunity to work with amateur cooks as it gives me a real hands on, opportunity to strip away some of the mystery about the process of preparing great quality dishes. It's also great fun to see the comparison between how professional chefs and amateur cooks work and the differences that can make to the end results." The ‘Stuffed’ series producer is Tracie O’Neill (Closing Time In: Glasgow), the show is directed by Peter Murphy and the Green Inc executive producers on board are Chris Jones and Stephen Stewart (Patrick Kielty . . . Almost Live!). The BBC NI executive producer is Mike Edgar (Happy Birthday Oscar Wilde!) and the series was commissioned for BBC NI by Fergus Keeling (executive producer, An Evening with James Young) and Ailsa Orr (producer, Pompeii – The Last Day). ‘Stuffed’ starts on BBC One, Northern Ireland on Wednesday, April 28th at 7.30pm.
