Cuchulainn Productions have wrapped filming in Ireland on the set of ‘The Doubleganger’, a feature written by John Fox (The Supreme Court) and produced by Joe Gavin. The film was filmed in Portlaoise and Dublin and is now moving to Prague city for a two week shoot.
‘The Doubleganger’ tells the story of Cillian, played by Czech Republic actor Josef Krcek (The Austro-Hungarian Empire), a talented musician who craves fame. He meets Angelina, played by Irish actress Maria Anastacia Keogh (The London Underground, Waiting for Dublin), a singer and street busker who changes his life. Josef Krcek is also director and editor of the feature.
Producer Joe Gavin (actor, Moon Machine) describes the premise of ‘The Doubleganger’ poetically, telling IFTN: “It’s in moments when we loose control of ourselves and start expressing our true personality; our likes and dislikes, our life’s purpose etc, or when we become negatively dependent on something such as, drugs, money, relationships, then we create versions of false hidden personalities within ourselves. “
The film’s other cast members include Stuart Dunne (Fair City), Valeria Bandio (Charlie Casanova) and Hannah Mc Donnell (The Fading Light) and it is funded by the Laois Arts Council. The director of photography is Brenda Fingleton.
