Last night the 49th Monte Carlo TV Awards saw Ireland win two Golden Nymph statuettes for; Outstanding Actress in a Mini Series: Charlene McKenna in ‘Whistleblower’ and Outstanding European Producer: World 2000 Entertainment; ‘The Tudors’.
The prizes, which were awarded in the Salle des Princes Grimaldi forum as part of the Golden Nymph Awards Ceremony, concluded the four day festival which commenced last Sunday with the opening ceremony where the world premiere screening of the film documentary ‘Back Door Channels : The Price of Peace’ was presented by Channel Production Films.
The Festival was launched in 1961 by Prince Rainier III of Monaco, because he "wished to encourage a new form of artistic expression, in the service of peace and understanding for mankind.”
Other Irish entries this year included ‘Raw’, ‘Bittersweet’ and ‘Killinascully’.
