RTE’s ‘Single Handed’ Wraps Filming | The Irish Film & Television Network

The two-part drama, written by Barry Simner, began filming on location in Connemara on 6th May, and will wrap filming this Friday, May 30th. DOP on the shoot is Darren Tiernan.

Owen McDonnell returns once more as the sleuthing Garda Sergeant Jack Driscoll, with co-stars David Herlihy (The Running Mate), IFTA-winning actress Ruth McCabe (Any Time Now) and Brian Gleeson (Trouble in Paradise) alongside.

This series sees several new cast members join the ‘Single-Handed’ line-up: Marcella Plunkett (Bachelors Walk), IFTA-winning actor Michael McElhatton (Adam & Paul), along with IFTA nominated actors Padraic Delaney (The Wind that Shakes the Barley) and Owen Roe (Prosperity, Breakfast on Pluto).

‘Single Handed 3’ offers another helping of suspense and intrigue in the West of Ireland rural village. When Jack Driscoll intervenes to try to save a local man from drowning, he finds himself involved in a delicate Dublin-run undercover drugs operation. His risky pursuit of justice puts him into direct conflict with the ambiguous priorities of his Dublin-based colleagues.

The series is co-produced by Dublin’s Element Films and the UK’s Touchpaper TV. Producer on the series is Clare Alan , with Touchpaper TV’s Rob Pursey and RTE’s Jane Gogan executive producing. Production designer on the shoot is Anna Rickard (George Gently, Puffball).

IFTA-nominated editor Isobel Stephenson (Garage, Pure Mule) will take charge of post-production.
