Irish actress Elaine Cassidy (Felicia’s Journey, Fingersmith) has landed a lead role in CBS drama ‘Harper’s Island’. The actress is currently filming the pilot for the series in Canada.
Cassidy, who is known for her starring roles in feature films ‘Disco Pigs’, ‘The Others’ and TV drama series ‘The Ghost Squad’, will star alongside US actor Ryan Merriman (The Ring Two, Final Destination 3) and Australian actress Samantha Noble (All Saints).
The pilot is being directed by ‘National Treasure’ helmer Jon Turteltaub and is described as a “horror story” which unfolds when group of friends meet on an island near Seattle for a wedding. Merriman and Noble will play the groom and the bride, while the Cassidy is the groom's childhood friend with a tragic past.
