Kirsten Sheridan wins as Best Director (Feature Film) for
Disco Pigs.
Kirsten studied film at the New York University and went on to receive the Film Institute’s ‘Outstanding Young Irish Talent Award’. Her first screenplay, Honour Bright (co-written with previous UIP award winner Audrey O’Reilly) won the Miramax Best Irish Screenplay in 1998 and her graduate 19 minute short film Patterns won her over a dozen international festival awards including Dresden, Aspen, Galway and Cork. At 12 she was acting with Daniel Day Lewis in her father’s film My Left Foot. At 25 she made her feature directorial debut with the multi award winning feature Disco Pigs, produced by Element's Ed Guiney.
Stephen McCollum has won Best Director–Animation short for “Pullin’ the Devil by the Tail”
To date Stephen McCollum has made nine live action short films, seven pop videos, and several short animations. His first animation was the short film "High Moon in Hell City’ and he has produced a claymation music video. "Pullin the Devil by the Tail" was produced by the Nerve Centre, and is Stephen's latest film funded by the Irish Film Board, RTE and the Arts Council as part of the Frameworks scheme.
