Screen Scene Posts Recent Broadcasts
26 Mar 2009 :
It has been an eventful past few weeks for post house Screen Scene and outside broadcast Observe team between covering all the St Patrick Day Festivities supplying production and post production services to the to the ‘Meteor Ireland Music Awards’ and creating graphics for The Script’s new video ‘Talk you Down’.

For the ‘Meteor Music Awards’, Screen Scene worked closely with production partner Red Jam and with the various departments within Meteor and MCD, in order to generate exclusive content that Meteor could deliver through their network straight to their customer’s phones in this innovative project. VT Packages were delivered in the run up to the event with a studio, edit suites and encode facility all set up on site at the awards at the RDS.

On the commercials front, Screen Scene has completed post production on the Meteor Broadband To Go commercial (Speers Films, Publicis QMP), directed by Lenny Abrahamson (Garage) and featuring Irish actor Chris O’Dowd (The IT Crowd, The Boat That Rocked). In addition, the latest spot for Avonmore Supermilk; Rays of Light (Scorpio Productions, Irish International) was shot in Argentina by Simon Greene and completed post production at the facility.

Again working with the team at Red Jam, Screen Scene also completed post production on ‘Talk You Down’, the latest promo for Irish band The Script which was shot by directing duo D.A.D.D.Y in L.A. The graphics-heavy music video involves the Screen scene graphics team creating graphic such as characters flying through, and meeting in mid air after a car accident.

The Observe and Digital Space Teams had a busy week working alongside NBC to broadcast the ‘Today’ show live from The St. Patrick’s festival. On Monday March 16th the first show was transmitted for 3 hours from the Powerscourt Estate where the team was shooting in full HD 1080/60i natively with a 6 camera set up. American hosts Al Roker and Meredith Vieira were on site to catch the excitement of the festivities. Four satellite transponders were used to carry pictures to and from NBC’s broadcast centres in Washington and New York. On March 17th the production was broadcast from Dublin’s city centre with the ‘Today’ show being hosted from various points throughout the parade as well as from Dublin Castle. The Observe crew were also present at the National Lottery Skyfest event in Waterford on Saturday 15th, broadcasting the event for RTÉ.
