Award winning Irish writer/director Aisling Walsh has written the script and is set to direct a major two part drama series for RTE. Featuring a heavyweight ensemble cast, the series deals with the aftermath of a violent rape set against the backdrop of an affluent Dublin society.
Walsh previously directed the acclaimed BBC drama ‘Fingersmith’ which garnered a BAFTA TV nomination for Best Drama Serial earlier this year and the highly successful Irish feature film ‘Song For a Raggy Boy’ which scooped the IFTA Best Irish Film award in 2004.
British actresses Olivia Williams (Rushmore, The Sixth Sense) and Natalie Press (My Summer of Love, Red Road) head the cast alongside Scottish actor David O’Hara (Tristan & Isolde), and Irish actor Brendan Coyle (The Mapmaker). Additional name Irish cast are tbc.

Produced by Subotica Entertainment (Proof, Song For A Raggy Boy, Small Engine Repair), the drama - provisionally titled ‘Flesh and Blood’ - will begin shooting on locations around Dublin from September 25th. DOP Simon Kossoff will shoot on Super 16 format with costumes by Judith Williams (Short Order) and production design by John Hand (Song For a A Raggy Boy, Watermelon).
Producers are Tristan Orpen Lynch and Dominic Wright with Jo Homewood acting as Series Producer. The project is being financed by RTE and S481.
