John Michael McDonagh's 'The Guard' has overtaken Ken Loach's 'The Wind That Shakes the Barley' in the Irish box office to become the most successful independent Irish film of all time. Since its release on July 8th, the film has also surpassed other Irish titles, including his brother Martin McDonagh's first feature outing 'In Bruges'. more

REP-BODIES | Cork Film Commissioner Appointed
Jason O'Mahony has been appointed as the new Cork Film Commissioner. Launched earlier this year by the Lord Mayor of Cork Jim Daly, the Commission is managed through the Cork Film Centre, funded by Cork County and City Councils, and based in Ballincollig in the Gunpowder Mills. The Cork Screen Commission helps film and television producers find, secure and make the best use of Cork's many locations. more
