Cinematographer Richard Kendrick talks to IFTN about his experiences shooting the documentary - balancing darkness and light on the streets of North Dublin.

Winner of Best Debut at last year's Galway Film Fleadh, ‘Citadel’ – directed by National Film School of Ireland graduate Ciarán Foy - has been awarded the MovieZone award for best feature at the Imagine Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival.

Aisling Walsh will direct an upcoming single drama on the Welsh poet, Dylan Thomas, entitled ‘A Poet in New York.’

Up and coming Irish producer Conor Barry, whose credits include ‘Savage’ and ‘Love Eternal’, has been selected as Ireland’s ‘Producer on the Move’ for this year’s Cannes International Film Festival.

Time travel science-fiction adventure ‘Dark By Noon’ – filmed in North Dublin on a shoestring budget – has been selected to have its world premiere as the closing film in London this May.

‘The O’Briens’ – a feel good comedy about an Irish family, made on a shoestring budget by 24-year-old filmmaker Richard Waters - has been selection as the Irish spotlight film at the Newport Beach film festival in California.

TG4’s ‘Scéal’ development scheme has granted six Irish-speaking writers and directors the opportunity to each adapt a well-known story from Irish language literature or folklore into a contemporary setting with a series of half hour short films, set to screen this April and May.

Director and producer Gerard Lough will begin principal photography on new horror feature ‘Night People’ this June, based on his own screenplay about high-tech thieves who fall foul of a building with a dark past.
