Dublin-based October Eleven Pictures are close to wrapping production on teen vampire thriller ‘The Ecstasy of Isabel Mann’ – directed, written and produced by Jason Figgis – which was filmed on location in Galway, Wicklow and Dublin.

The blood-soaked story follows troubled teenager Isabel Mann, played by the ‘Railway Children’s Ellen Mullen, as she is seduced into a violent sect of day-walking vampires, impervious to sunlight.

When her classmates begin to go missing, two detectives target Isabel as the prime suspect, forcing her to seek the help of vampire guides who train her in the art of killing.

Filmed in HD, the production has only two final scenes lef to shoot before entering post-production.

Among the cast are Neill Fleming (Game of Thrones, A Christmas Carol); Matthew Toman; Mirjana Rendulic; Karim Elgendy; Nicole Bermingham; Kevin Buckley and John Campbell.

Other production crew members include Alan Rogers, DoP; Michael Richard Plowman, score; Mark McLoughlin, sound; Catherine Wrigglesworth and Sarah Shiels, make-up; and Tori Campbell and Elaine Campbell, 2nd Unit Make-up.

Mr Figgis’ career to date has spanned such productions as ‘3 Crosses’, ‘A Christmas Carol’ and ‘Railway Children’ - in which a virus wipes out all the adults in the world leaving young people to fend for themselves.

His next feature ‘Skum’ - in which a documentary director must face the consequences of a past crime - is currently in pre-production.
