The feature marks Italian director Paolo Sorrentino's English feature debut and will shoot on location in Dublin for the next three weeks. The film stars Oscar-winners Sean Penn (Milk, Mystic River), Frances McDormand (Fargo), and musician David Byrne, alongside Irish talent Simon Delaney (Zonad, Happy Ever Afters), Olwen Fouere (Space Truckers) and newcomer Eve Hewson. |

Adare Productions Announce 'G-Day' |
| 16 Aug 2010 | Adare Productions are currently in pre-production with ‘G-Day’ a series that will organise and follow the battle to become TG4’s Top Irish Speaking Town. The series, which will shoot after Christmas, will feature a pair of villages whose residents will compete to speak only Irish and ultimately be crowned the top Irish speaking town outside the Gaeltacht. Adare also goes into production tomorrow with a new series of ‘Livin’ with Lucy’ where Lucy will move in with Crystal Swing for a week. |

Govt. Assessing Free-to-Air Sports Proposals |
| 13 Aug 2010 | Communications Minister Eamon Ryan announced recently that he has appointed expert consultants to examine the proposal on the revision of the list of sporting events available as free-to-air. Following a month-long tender process, Indecon International Economic Consultants has been chosen to study the proposal and prepare a report on the Review of Designated Events and the Designation of Events of Major Importance to Society under the Broadcasting Act 2009. |

Interview: Brown Bag Films Move into Features |
| 12 Aug 2010 | 16 years ago Cathal Gaffney and Darragh O’Connell founded Brown Bag Films. In a pre-digital era the pair set up the studios as a means of making their own films. The group was founded at a time when Ireland has the biggest animation industry in Europe with the ironic fact that none of the studios here were Irish-owned. The company has since moved from its hand-drawn and painted beginnings to boast a staff of 57 in its Dublin studios which are equipped with a state of the art High Definition picture and Audio post production facilities. Furthermore the group has, as of July this year, a new Hollywood-based office. IFTN caught up with co-founder and managing director Cathal Gaffney to talk about the future of the company and Irish animation as a whole. |

Simon Hubbard (Jack) is the writer/director of the project with Fergal O'Hanlon (Yu Ming is Ainm Dom) on board as director of photography. |
