Michael Antonio Keane, Eve Duffy, Max Hendrickson and Rhianna Woods are headed to New York, where their respective films will be screened at the All American High School Film Festival.
Four young Irish filmmakers have been nominated in four categories at the All American High School Film Festival (AAHSFF) in New York, one of the largest international student film festivals in the world. The filmmakers in question are Michael Antonio Keane, Eve Duffy, Max Hendrickson and Rhianna Woods.
AAHSFF was founded by filmmakers Tom Olivia and Andrew Jenks in 2012. Held annually in New York City, the festival awards over $3,500,000 in prizes and scholarships to the best emerging filmmakers from around the world.
Michael Antonio Keane’s Like a Bolt from the Blue has been nominated in the Best Drama category. He is a student at the National Film School (IADT). Rhianna Woods is nominated in the Best experimental category for her first short film I'll Know. Earlier this year, She won the Ruadharc award at the Fresh Film Festival in Limerick. At the same festival, Max Hendrickson was named the overall Young Filmmaker of the Year 2023 for his short animated adaptation of the Edgar Allan Poe classic, The Tell-Tale Heart. The short has been nominated in the Best Animation category at AAHSFF 2023. Eve Duffy’s A Wake to Remember has been nominated for Best Comedy.
The films will be screened at the AMC Empire cinema complex on October 21st.
