Director John Crowley has confirmed that his latest film We Live in Time, starring Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh, is currently in post-production and set for an Autumn 2024 release.
In an interview with the UCC Talking Pictures podcast, director John Crowley (Brooklyn) has given updates on his latest film, We Live In Time. The project was announced early last year, with the news that Andrew Garfield (Silence) and Florence Pugh (Dune: Part Two) would co-star in the Crowley-directed film. Crowley previously worked with Garfield on his 2007 film Boy A.
Plot details of We Live in Time are being kept under wraps, but it is understood to be a ‘funny, deeply moving and immersive’ love story. Irish actor Aoife Hinds (Normal People, Derry Girls) is also understood to star in the film.
The film was written by Nick Payne (The Last Letter from Your Lover), and produced by Adam Ackland, Leah Clarke, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Guy Heeley.
"It is literally hot off the press and we'll finish the final mix on May 1st,” said Crowley on the UCC Podcast. “So it's in the latter part of the post-production process now and it will be in the world in the autumn".
Speaking of Garfield, Crowley said: "It's been sixteen years since I last worked with Andrew and he's done so much in his work in that time, both on film and on stage."
In regards to working with Pugh for the first time, he added: “Florence is earlier in her career but it's like watching Rocket Man or something, when she's just fearless and has the purest instinct for what the heart of the scene is about".
We Live in Time is set to release this Autumn.
