Celtic Media Festival, the International Summit of Sound and Screen, has announced the full list of nominees for this year’s Torc Awards for Excellence. Many of the projects are supported by TG4, Northern Ireland Screen, and Screen Ireland respectively.

An Cailín Ciúin, the IFTA-winning and Oscar-nominated film by Colm Bairead was nominated for two awards, Single Drama (Screen) and Spirit of the Festival. Joining An Cailín Ciúin in the Single Drama (Screen) category is Frank Berry’s Aisha, a Screen Ireland-supported film about a young Nigerian woman (Letitia Wright) in Ireland’s immigration system who forms a friendship with one of the accommodation centre employees (Josh O’Connor).

Bloodlands follows a Northern Irish police officer (James Nesbitt) investigating crimes while trying to hide a dark secret from his past. This role has previously earned Nesbitt an IFTA for Best Actor in a Lead Role. Panel show The Blame Game has been nominated for Entertainment (Screen).
