An absurd satire of a subservient office clerk who, after the mysterious disappearance of his tongue, is forced to engage with the Establishment in a vain attempt to find his missing tongue. Driven to distraction, the clerk is easily dealt with by society and eventually finds his peace in another institution where he finally gets heard.
