Hollywood actor and star of ‘Saturday Night Live’ Will Forte will be coming to Dublin next week to attend the Irish Film and Television Awards. Forte will also be attending a special screening of ‘Run & Jump’, which the actor stars in, organised by the Irish Heart Foundation to mark National Stroke Week.

‘The Fall’, ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Love/Hate’, ‘Quirke’ and ‘Vikings’ will all battle it out at the upcoming 2014 IFTA Awards in the Best Drama category, which is being sponsored by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI).

Following the last episode of the first series screening last Sunday night on RTÉ Two, and with the History Channel in the US currently showing the second series, ‘Vikings’ has proven it is in high demand still as it has received an order for a 10-episode third season.

Irish animation will be given due attention once again at this year’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival, taking place 9-14 April 2014. Three projects have been officially selected for the festival while Oscar-nominated Irish animation company Cartoon Saloon will launch a new book and give a presentation.

Netflix has announced that the IFTA nominated film ‘Life’s A Breeze’, written and directed by Lance Daly (Kisses, The Halo Effect) is now available to stream instantly on Netflix in the UK and Ireland.

Nancy Harris, John Conroy, Mark Geraghty and Graham Linehan have all received nominations.

Representing Ireland in the 19th European Film Festival of India, ‘Aisling Gheal’ (Bright Vision) will tour 10 cities across India from February until July.

The 5th Annual Limerick Film Festival will take place over three days this April. The programme for the 2014 festival was launched at the George Boutique Hotel today.

Former ‘Fair City’ actress, best known for her role as Neasa Dillon, has been cast in the second season of BBC’s ‘The Fall’ alongside fellow Irish actor Jamie Dornan, and Gillian Anderson.
