Hollywood actor and star of ‘Saturday Night Live’ Will Forte will be coming to Dublin next week to attend the Irish Film and Television Awards. Forte will also be attending a special screening of ‘Run & Jump’, which the actor stars in, organised by the Irish Heart Foundation to mark National Stroke Week. The Irish Heart Foundation is the national charity fighting heart disease and stroke.
Besides ‘SNL’, Will Forte is also known for his roles in ‘30 Rock’ and ‘Nebraska’. In ‘Run & Jump’, Forte plays an American doctor who comes to observe an Irish family after the father of the house (played by Edward MacLiam) suffers a life-changing stroke. Maxine Peake plays the struggling wife and mother (‘Shameless’, ‘See No Evil’). Steph Green directs the Kerry-based film with a script written by Green and Ailbhe Keoghan.
Forte will present an award at the 2014 IFTAs on Saturday 5 April. ‘Run & Jump’ has been nominated for four awards (Best Film, Best Script, Best Actor in a Supporting Role and Best Editing) altogether.
Forte, MacLiam, Green and Keoghan will also all be present at a special screening of the film, followed by a Q&A which the four cast and crew members will participate in. The screening will take place on Sunday 6 April in the Light House Cinema, Dublin, to mark the launch of National Stroke Week (6-13 April). See www.stroke.ie for more information on the cause.
