The Irish feature title from Mary McGuckian and documentary from Marco Antonio Orsini, both engaging with the life and work of Irish designer Eileen Gray (1878-1976), are now available on iTunes.
Both films released to Irish cinemas on Friday, May 27th with Orla Brady (Into the Badlands) taking the lead in McGuckian’s biopic as the universally lauded architect, designer, feminist and pioneer of the Modern Movement.
Both titles engage with the tumultuous relationship between Gray and fellow architect Le Corbusier, and how this worked toward denying her the professional recognition she deserved.
Brady received an IFTA nomination for Best Actress in April of 2016 for her performance. McGuckian received €22,250 in Development Funding for Q2 2016 from the Irish Film Board for her upcoming feature ‘A Girl From Mogadishu’, which she is set to write and direct.
