The cause of autism has not been traced and neither has a cure. Autistic children are a silent minority, silent because they cannot communicate with the world. The mothers, in trying to understand their children, can perhaps try to speak for them. Walking Into Mirrors is about understanding, acceptance and unconditional love.
Set in Dublin, this is an insightful look at three mothers and their sons: Glen O'Connor, a five year old with autistic tendencies who lives with his mother, Linda; nineteen year old Andrew Hall, who has mild autism and his mother Doris; and Gavin Hanlon who is thirteen and has full blown 'Kanner' type autism, and his mother, Mary.
